Three Creeks Lodge Luxury Cabin in Broken Bow, OK Fall Getaway
Cooler mornings. Golden leaves. Crisp evenings around the fire. Pumpkin-filled afternoons and adventures through the pine trees. Fall has a way of making you want to slow down and get away and Broken Bow is one of our favorite places to do just that.
Thinking about a fall getaway to Broken Bow, Oklahoma? We thought so! We've gathered a few of our favorite things to do in October, whether you're planning a family fall break, a girls' weekend, a guys' getaway, a church retreat, or simply a weekend with your favorite people.
And, of course, we'd love for Three Creeks Lodge to be your home base while you explore it all.
Explore Beavers Bend State Park
If you're craving a little adventure, Beavers Bend State Park, just minutes from Three Creeks Lodge, is a must-visit. Wander beneath towering pine trees, explore scenic hiking trails, or spend the day on the water at Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River.
Go hiking, fishing, boating, kayaking, or horseback riding or simply find a quiet spot to take in the changing scenery. Fall is the perfect excuse to get outside, breathe in that crisp forest air, and enjoy a slower pace.
And when your adventure is over? Come back to the Lodge, kick off your shoes, and settle in.
Make a Day of Downtown Broken Bow
Don't overlook downtown! Downtown Broken Bow is a true little gem, and October 10 is the perfect time to experience it during Fall in Love with Downtown Broken Bow.
This free, family-friendly event brings the community together with a 5K, cornhole tournament, kids' activities, bounce houses, contests, seasonal decorations, and an evening street dance.
Spend the day exploring, grab something delicious, enjoy the festivities, and then head back to Three Creeks for a cozy evening around the fire. That's what we call a fall Saturday well spent.
Hop Aboard at Beavers Bend Depot
Have little adventurers in your group? Make a stop at Beavers Bend Depot & Trail Rides inside the state park. The short train rides and pony rides are a fun way for younger visitors to experience the park without a long hike.
Climb aboard, take in the trees, and let the kids enjoy a little old-fashioned fun. It's an easy addition to a family day at Beavers Bend.
Experience Indigenous Archaeology Day
On October 3, head to Beavers Bend State Park for Indigenous Archaeology Day, a free, family-friendly event celebrating the rich Indigenous history and culture of Oklahoma.
Kids and adults can experience pottery and textile demonstrations, flint knapping, traditional stickball, atlatl and bow demonstrations, and other hands-on activities.
It's a fun opportunity to learn something new, connect with the history of the region, and add a meaningful experience to your fall getaway.
You Don't Have to Leave the Lodge
Here's the thing about a great getaway: you don't have to be busy every minute.
Some of the best memories happen when you have nowhere else to be. Start the morning with coffee and a slow breakfast, then let the day unfold at your own pace. Challenge your crew to a game, gather everyone for a movie marathon, or turn dinner into a group affair with everyone cooking together in the kitchen.
As the sun goes down, take the fun outside. Gather around the fire pit with a warm drink and a plate of s'mores, listen to the crackling fire, and let the kids run and play while the grown-ups catch up. When it's time to wind down, slip into the hot tub for a soak or relax in the sauna before settling in for a cozy evening.
At Three Creeks Lodge, you don't have to pack your schedule full of activities. Sometimes the getaway is simply having a beautiful place where everyone can be together.
